Judicial Philosophy

  • A Judge should be fair, thoughtful, and knowledgeable about the law.
  • A Judge should be impartial, unbiased, and objective. An evenhanded application of the law serves the best interest of our community at large. Justice requires that all parties deserve a Judge that serves without favor or bias.
  • Everyone that appears before a District Court Judge in Wake County should be treated with dignity and respect.
  • A Judge should set conditions of release for defendants charged with crimes that are the least restrictive means available that ensure both the defendants’ appearance in court and the safety of the public.
