I was born and raised in Wake County. My father is an attorney. Prior to her retirement, my mother advocated for abused and neglected children as a manager of the State’s Guardian ad Litem program. From them, I learned the value of passion for the law and service to the community. I would strive to apply these two values if I were to be elected to the bench. It is my hope that as my time as an attorney in Wake County, I have earned the reputation as a competent and diligent lawyer whose bywords are professionalism and integrity.
I view myself as a progressive and reasonable prosecutor. I know that not every criminal charge should result in a conviction. I am proud that the Wake County District Attorney’s Office continues to expand our diversion programs and restorative justice programs like the Mental Health Deferral program and Drug Treatment Court. I meet with defense attorneys on a daily basis to discuss difficult cases and work for fair resolutions. I believe that my relationship opposing counsel provides me with valuable perspective about what constitutes justice in a given case. I would be honored to serve the citizens of Wake County as a District Court Judge.
